Where Are We Going Part 3
Tools For Sense-Making Series
In Understanding the World – Where Are We Going Part 2, we discussed how the perspective model needs both connection and a shared frame between you, the common good, and people.
Orientation
In this model, you will notice that the common good is at the top, not you. The goal is to aim towards the common good. Humans represent the commonality between you and other people. The addition of orientation allows us to engage more seriously, and the arrows represent feedback between us and the common good.
Common Good: The goal should be aiming towards the common good, not the individual.
Hierarchy: The common good is at the top, and the individual (you) is at the bottom. By adding orientation, this hierarchy allows us to have serious engagement.
Humanity: Recognizing our shared humanity can foster empathy and understanding.
Feedback Loops: A constant engagement between the individual and the common good is needed for our growth.
Distributed Cognition: With engagement we can expand our knowledge and understanding.
Awareness
Humans have a feedback loop that negotiates with common good. This gives you multiple perspectives to view the world besides your own.
Awareness of the Common Good: Though our participating in the common good, we can built stronger connections with it.
Negotiating with the Common Good: This involves balancing individual needs with the needs of the community.
Feedback loops: Individuals and society interact with each other and the common good in a constant engagement.
Multiple Perspectives: By considering different perspectives, including the common good, individual needs, and societal norms, we can make more informed decisions.
The Power of Awareness: Being aware of these connected relationships allows us to navigate the world more effectively.
Participation and Co-Manifestation
In this model, we have participation among humans with the common good in mind. Then we have this idea of co-manifestation towards the common good. In this complete model, we have orientation and a relationship with humans that creates interaction which causes co-manifestation thus creating the proper orientation.
Co-manifestation and Participation: Humans can manifest with each other and with the common good.
The Importance of the Common Good: The common good should be a central focus.
Human Connection: By recognizing our human relationships we have increased empathy and understanding for others.
Feedback Loops: A constant exchange between individuals and the common good is essential.
The Power of Perspective: Multiple perspectives allow for a deeper understanding of the world.
The Role of Models: Models can help us better understand the world and our place in it.
